We launch a few auction houses at a time. Every launch includes a rehearsal sale with your clerk and auctioneer and someone from our team on your first sale days, and that only works if we are not stretched across too many at once. A demo is how you get into the next launch.

Questions

The things salerooms ask first.

Do we have to leave the marketplace we use now?

Most salerooms keep theirs at first. MegaBid runs alongside the portals you already list with. Salerooms typically start by moving their regular buyers across, keep the marketplace for reach on the lots that need it, and let the numbers decide the rest.

Who owns the bidder data?

You do. Names, emails and bidding history are yours, exportable in full whenever you ask, and your buyers hear from you alone. That is the entire point of the exercise.

What happens if something breaks mid-sale?

Someone is reachable on sale days, and the room can always keep selling: the auctioneer's book does not depend on the internet. Bids already placed are recorded, so a bidder who drops off does not lose their position.

Will our apps really be under our own name?

Yes, published to the App Store and Google Play under your auction house, with your icon and your listing. We handle submission, review and updates, which are the parts nobody wants to learn.

How long does it take to get going?

Weeks, not months. Setup covers importing your lots, your branding across the apps and website, and a full rehearsal sale with your clerk. Own-brand apps also need Apple and Google review, which is the one part of the timeline we do not control.

Is there commission on lots sold in the room?

No. The 1% applies only to lots sold through your app and website. Room, telephone and commission bids taken by your own staff carry no MegaBid commission.

What does it cost?

A one-off setup fee of £1,500, £2,000 or £3,000 depending on the package, then £250 a month and 1% of hammer on lots sold through your app and website. Lots sold in the room carry no commission. The back office can be added to Basic or Standard for £1,000 setup and £150 a month. All prices exclude VAT. See Packages for what each one includes.
